The Electrohome 8000
The Marquee is universally acclaimed as the ultimate CRT projector and is still being produced today with only minor modifications to its original design. They produce a large, bright, sharp, accurately colored and noiseless image that is far more film-like than any digital projector. They can fully resolve all of the detail of 1080i HDTV at a brightness level that exceeds the motion picture projection standard on a large screen. And, they are expensive. The HI-REZ rebuilt Model 8000 is therefore a remarkable value

The Electrohome 8500
The Marquee 8500 is a newer version of the 8000 – basically similar, built on the same chassis, using the same lenses and CRTs, but incorporating a number of engineering changes. Most of the changes have minimal effect on the image quality, except for an additional gamma circuit in the blue channel that reduces the, already low, variation of color temperature with image brightness. Horizontal linearity is added to the many other parameters that are available on all Marquees to adjust the size and shape of the image on your screen. The 8500 is also rated at an even higher maximum light output than the 8000.

The Electrohome 9500LC
Moving from 8-inch diameter CRTs to 9-inch CRTs, increases the light output and the maximum resolution
capability of the Marquee 9500LC over the otherwise identical 8500.

The LC stands for liquid coupling of the face of the CRT to the rear element of the lens. Normally the CRT and lens are air coupled and that allows a small amount of unfocussed, light to be reflected back from the lens onto the CRT face. Some of that scattered light makes it out of the lens onto the screen and thus reduces the effective contrast. That light leakage is much smaller than that of any current digital projector, but even that goes away with liquid coupling.

Nowadays, you can get any number of small LCD, DILA, or DLP based projectors that can put more light on the screen than you need, but nothing has ever been built that can better the picture quality of the Marquee 9500LC
